Day 1920 (31/03/2015)

Golly it was very windy overnight (and not just because of the Jerusalem Artichokes) and our fence didn't make it unscathed.

I managed to tie it in place for now and will get the maintenance man in to repair it properly soon. I used the hose pipe next to the wall as my first attempt broke within a few minutes.

After yesterday gym session I woke this morning with aching arms and stomach muscles but went back to the gym for more punishment this afternoon.

I seem to have lots to do but am taking the even off to watch the football with the family.

Monday 30 March 2015

Day 1919 (30/03/2015)

Monday morning and home all week.

Lots to do in the office and went back to the gym, for possibly the first time this year, after suffering from man flu & a torn / ripped calf muscle, to be greeted by an offer for a bacon sandwich.

In the gym I thought I had better start of easy after the enforced rest, for fear of killing myself. I did 6 minutes on the bike, then the weights, with reps of 15, 10 & 5, then sit-up, followed by 6 minutes on the cross trainer (photograph), more sit-ups then a couple of minutes on the treadmill (not quite a running machine yet).

Then back home where I eat far too much for lunch.

In the afternoon I had to reformat my new laptop, loosing all of the stuff I had installed on the as apparently it was beyond saving.

Damn & Blast.

Saturday 28 March 2015

Day 1917 & 1918 (28 & 29/03/2015)

Spent most of the day in the office catching up with some work.

I had meant to go for a swim in the afternoon but got tied up with the reports and forgot until the gym was nearly closed.

On Sunday I mad a quick Sunday dinner of pan fried pork fillets.

It was quite tasty.

Then in the evening we went to see Alan Davies at Yeovil.

He was very funny, so I'm glad I went as I had originally decided not to buy tickets as I has seen some of his stand up on telly years ago, which I thought totally unfunny, which had put me off for years.

Friday 27 March 2015

Day 1916 (27/03/2015)

Back in the office, catching up with loads of emails and paper work and went for a swim in the afternoon.

This afternoon I was sending an email to someone I have recently met at our Injury On Duty Group, I was checking that I had the right email address, searched it online and realised that for the last 9 years I have lived literally across the road from them, about 30 foot away.

I have never spoken to them or even seen them, so are we both anti-social or am I just really anti-social in the extreme. Possibly both.

Lovely steak dinner made my lovely wife tonight.

I poured the pepper sauce on afterwards.

Day 1915 (26/03/2015)

Last day of the course and it went quite well.

We had lunch down in the bar again, today I had a lamb burger, which was very nice.

After the course I went to Paddington, where I had 90 minutes to wait before my train, so was able to site and enjoy a relaxing time at Yo Sushi.

I haven't been there for a while, so it was lovely, especially with the large glass of Pinot Grigo Blush.

It was great to get home and be back with me wife.

Day 1914 (25/03/2015)

The course continues to go well. Today we had lunch down in the bar, which gave us a chance to stretch our legs and have a change of scene. I had a chicken burger which was nice.

I had a bad headache for most of the day, so after the course I went to lie on my bed for an hour or so, which helped me feel a bit better.

In the evening I didn't have anything to do, which was nice so I went for a pizza with one of the guys on the course.

I had calamari for starters.

And a nice greek lamb pizza.

Day 1913 (24/03/2015)

The second day of the course went well and the lunch was another winner.

In the evening I went for a very interesting meeting with some new business partners at a Prezzo around the corner.

As well as having a very nice carbonara we discussed a few things that hopefully will work out and should secure my long term financial future.

Day 1912 (23/03/2015)

They put me in a twin room at the Civil Service Club, rather trhan a smaller single room, so that was better seing as I'm here for the week.

The course went well for today and as always there was far too much lovely food at lunchtime.

In the evening I met up with Kelly and we had a nice Italian meal before going to the theatre.

I don't know what it is about the theatre, when I go in I am wide awake but as soon as they turn the lights down and I sit comfortably I just feel tired (it was nothing to do with the large glass of wine with my dinner) and fall asleep but thankfully Kelly was there to nudge me when I started snoring.

Then I dropped Kelly at the tube station for her journey back to Brighton.

Saturday 21 March 2015

Day 1910 & 1911 (21 & 22/03/2015)

A busy Saturday preparing for next weeks course.

Went for a swim in the late afternoon and bought a chicken kebab on the way home.

Wasn't as nice as I had imagined.

Spent Sunday finishing getting ready and leaving on the train for London at 6:30pm.

Bought some tickets for a show on Monday night when I'm meeting up with Kelly.

Should be fun.

Day 1909 (20/03/2015)

There was an eclipse in the morning but it was a bit cloudy, so although it got a bit darker it wasn't as impressive as the last one, which we saw when we were on holiday in Cornwall in 1999.

That seems like a lifetime ago, hopefully everyone remembers them as fondly as I do.

Went for a swim, so that was 5 days this week and my leg is now much better.

Friday 20 March 2015

Day 1908 (19/03/2015)

I woke after about 3 hours sleep and tried my laptop to see if it had all been a nightmare but it hadn't, my laptop was completely broken.

Then I got ready and realized that the top had come off of my aftershave, thankfully only a small bottle, and had emptied into my toiletry bag.

The day was not going well.

It was only 10 minutes to the venue and I managed to get there and park up without any more disasters.

I was able to use the venues system and so the presentation still went ahead, with some really good feedback.

Then a very long drive back which left me knackered but when I got home I changed and then went back out for a swim.

Day 1907 (18/03/2015)

Well it was a busy day getting ready to go to Cambridge but I still managed to go for a swim.

I didn't want to get to Cambridge too late and so had aimed to leave home by 7pm but in the end it was nearly 8pm when I left. I thought I would still make good time but there were loads of A roads closed due to road works, so in the end I arrived at about 11:45pm which was annoying.

When I got to the hotel I lay on my bed putting the presentation on my new laptop ready for the morning when it broke, with some serious issues with the hard drive, meaning I couldn't get it to start. I spent hours trying to get it fixed but in the end decided I had to have some sleep.

Tuesday 17 March 2015

Day 1906 (17/03/2015)

A relaxing start to the day as our cleaner Anne is away, so we had a lie-in and a nice breakfast.

I went for a swim in the afternoon and just a bit of work during the day.

Yesterday I was thinking about giving up the training and concentrating on the research for a little while until I could give that up and just be a writer, which is still the long term aim. Then I had a meeting where I discussed some courses for someone an got an email about some more courses in the Middle East, for the sort of governments I really don't like.

This would be just for the money as that is why I'm working for now but I don't think that it will be for more than another year or two at the most as I would rather be at home.

Monday 16 March 2015

Day 1905 (16/03/2015)

Up early and visited the Doctors, where he was concerned with my injured calf muscle but I was more concerned about my painful foot & arm; apparently I have tennis elbow without ever having played tennis.

So now I have to take Ibuprofen (anti-inflammatory) & change my trainers and wait for the results of a blood test to see about my calf muscle.

The blood tests later came back negative so I don't have and haven't recently had a blood clot, just a very painful torn calf muscle (as I suspected but no harm in checking seeing as the Doctor was concerned).

In the evening we went out for some sushi with Gary & Elaine.

Great food and great company as always, a lovely evening.

Sunday 15 March 2015

Day 1903 & 1904 (14 & 15/03/2015)

Thomas was away for the night so we could have a nice relaxing lie-in before going to our monthly trip to Bridgwater.

On the way back from Bridgwater we stop off at the drive-thru costa coffee to warm up and have some cake.

When I say some cake, it was quite a big bit of cake but we were OK with that.

Mothers Day on Sunday, so I saw mine, as I do every Sunday for breakfast and my wife only worked half a day so we could have some more time together and I tried to spoil her.

Friday 13 March 2015

Day 1902 (13/03/2015)

Still have little enthusiasm for work but slowly getting back into the swing of things.

I went for a swim in the afternoon and my calf muscle lasted the whole 15 - 20 minutes without hurting, so I may go up stairs to the gym next week.

Our new veg box arrived today and seems good.

I'm looking forward to trying some new recipes to use up the veg from now on.

Day 1901 (12/03/2015)

I had to go to another meeting in London with the Serious Fraud Office, who are based at Canada House, the embassy or similar, so it's got fairly tight security.

Thankfully the meting was after lunch, so I didn't have to get up too early.

The meeting was about supplying them with some training and I think some were a bit surprised by my rather laid back casual (couldn't give a toss attitude) approach but I told them I do this for a living and don't like suits and life's to short to be serious.

I am getting to the stage where if people want me then OK I'm happy to work for them but if not I really don't care (as long as they don't use any of the people I hate) but I think I need a change in the next year or two, hopefully writing.

Had a nice burrito after the meeting whilst waiting for the train home.

Day 1900 (11/03/2015)

Wednesday was a bit similar, trying to do some work and went for a swim but very little else.

Wednesday 11 March 2015

Day 1899 (10/03/2015)

Still not doing much at work but went for another swim in the afternoon.

I fancied going out for dinner with my wife in the evening, so we went for a curry, which she picked.

It was nice to have some time together.
