Day 1252 (31/05/2013)

Early start and a train into London to do an interview for The Media Show on Radio 4. It's for a programme about privacy. I might not be used on the show as I was given the presenters name and then did a 108 page research report about him to show how little privacy we have but he doesn't know about it yet.

I'm not really getting paid but it might be useful for making a few connections and as an advert.

It should also mean I at least get a few different photographs for my blog and a nice meal at Paddington later.

Day 1251 (30/05/2013)

Another busy day in the office but I managed to go to the gym but thought I should ease myself back into it by just going swimming.

It was fairly quiet in the house as Kelly was out doing theatre things in Exeter & London. and Thomas was doing photography things at the cricket in Birmingham.

If only you could collect something similar to air-miles as a frequent user of the trains, as Kelly spends a lot of money & time on trains. I really hope that the show in Exeter works out for her and gives her the next step up she needs as she does try hard and deserves the break.

The cricket was a bit of a washout for Thomas, as it was raining so there was no play but its sounds like he had a  good and interesting day anyway. When he explained about the food they were provided with I have decided that I may get a second job as a press photographer.

The only trouble is that driving to Birmingham and back only for the match to be called off means that there was no chance of selling any photographs, so money spent but nothing earned. So I hope the rest of this tournament goes a bit better for him as I think I will be refueling his car for him an a near daily basis.

A few of Thomas's photography things that he had to take out of his bag whilst it was drying. The big lens in the middle weighs a ton but is apparently very good.

Day 1250 (29/05/2013)

Another busy day in the office, when I really intended to go to the gym but did quite manage it.

I heard today that a course I was booked for in June had been cancelled. I will miss the money but its nice to look on the bright side of another week at home instead of being in a hotel.

Tuesday 28 May 2013

Day 1249 (28/05/2013)

It's wet out & I have a busy week, again but will try to go to the gym later.

Monday 27 May 2013

Day 1248 (27/05/2013)

It was a Bank Holiday and the sun was out for the first half of the day so I did that middle aged British thing of cutting the grass and tidying the garden.

So now if we want a cup of tea in the afternoon we should be able to sit outside, if its not raining.

Day 1246 & 1247 (25 & 26/05/2013)

On Saturday we went of to Clevedon to see Gary & Elaine at their new place, which we thought was lovely and is already looking like home.

We went for a walk along the sea-front and those big kids amongst us went on the kids train.

Then we went for a nice meal at an Italian restaurant near to Gary & Elaine's, Scoozi, which was lovely.

Then on Sunday was decided to have a BBQ.

I am determined to spend more time relaxing in the garden this year.

Friday 24 May 2013

Day 1245 (24/05/2013)

I have spent the day getting my accounts up to date and sorting out all of the work I have to do. I think I have two weeks worth of work to do this Bank Holiday, so not much time off then.

Day 1244 (23/05/2013)

Last day of the course then a long drive home.

Great to be back with my family and in my own bed.

Wednesday 22 May 2013

Day 1243 (22/05/2013)

Day two on the course and its going OK but there are a couple on the course who I don't think have ever seen a computer before and who are possibly deaf or just unable to follow basic instructions.

Nice pork dinner for lunch, with no potatoes and then for dinner I had calamari for starters and a carbonara for mains with Kevin.

Still no bread or alcohol so I expect the weight to be falling off of me..........any year now.

Truly shocking events in London today. I cant help but think the world would be a much better place without any organised religion and with Tony Blair, who is responsible for so much of the hatred. Can't these mad people target him & his family instead of innocent people.

Tuesday 21 May 2013

Day 1242 (21/05/2013)

Last night I stupidly stayed up watching State of Play on the telly. It was not as good as the original tv series and finished quite late.

So imagine my surprise this morning when I woke up at 8:04am having set my alarm for 7:20am.

So it was a mad rush to have a shower and drive to the training by 8:45am do I could still set up for a 9am start. I hate mornings like that, it seems to put you on the back foot all day.

Anyway the day went OK & I'm aiming to get a bit more work done tonight.

Today I started my new healthy eating period by not having the bread roll at lunch, not having any afters with lunch, drinking lots of water today rather any tea, then tonight having a lemonade instead of a pint of shandy with my dinner and not having an afters.

Saying that I did have a vegetable chili for lunch and some nice fish cakes for dinner, so I've not exactly been starving myself.

But as the advert says, every little helps.

Monday 20 May 2013

Day 1241 (20/05/2013)

Just about ready for this weeks but suddenly have a weeks worth of work to do as well, so I guess I wont be relaxing much of an evening.

Hoping to leave home by about 6pm so I can get there early rather than arriving at about 11pm as I did last time.

Day 1239 & 1240 (18 & 19/05/2013)

Spent most of the weekend working, doing reports and preparing for doing a course in Preston next week.

Saying that I made a nice Sunday dinner, slow cooked lamb with jersey royals and spinach.

Very tasty.

Friday 17 May 2013

Day 1238 (17/05/2013)

Deja vu, busy with work and I must prepare for a course next week in Preston.

I don't think I will get to relax in the garden this weekend.

Thursday 16 May 2013

Day 1237 (16/05/2013)

Had a useful meeting, for a change, which will hopefully direct my area of work for the next phase of things.

Really really busy, which is good and bad.

Day 1236 (15/05/2013)

Slightly frustrating & disappointing day.

Really really busy and away on a course next week.

Day 1235 (14/05/2013)

Early morning and off to Bristol for a bit of a day out for Leah,

whilst I sat in a diner having tea & a bacon sandwich.

Not a completely wasted day but just about.

Monday 13 May 2013

Day 1234 (13/05/2013)

I am officially younger than my wife for the next couple of months, so Happy Birthday my lovely wife.

I may start a new healthy lifestyle after last week as I may have over done it (for the last 20yrs).

Update - 19:15 - OK my new healthy lifestyle may have to wait for another day as we went to Mr Miles Tea Room for the afternoon.

Catching up with emails & stuff then the evening relaxing in-front of the telly with my wife.

Day 1233 (12/05/2013)

A bit more of the tourist stuff and then off to the Tate Modern, passing St Paul's and a few other land marks on the way.

I always thought myself a fan of modern art until visiting the Tate, where I was a bit underwhelmed.

Then before the train back the chance to introduce my wife to the joys of Yo-Sushi.

We were nearly able to get away without paying as the was a fire alarm and the station was evacuated but we returned like honest people, to carry on eating and pay.

Day 1232 (11/05/2013)

After a full breakfast we acted like tourists with a walk along the embankment and towards parliament square.

Then Harrods for the rest of the day, which was made more bearable by the stops for refreshments.

Then off to The Savoy for dinner, to make up for not having our Afternoon Tea there.

It was very nice a great way to finish a full day.

Day 1231 (10/05/2013)

Up fairly early to make sure we caught our train to London.

Then we had a fantastic afternoon tea at the 5star Corinthia Hotel, which was rather posh but very nice.

Then a walk around Trafalgar Square (which had been turned into some sports event) and then a long long walk around The National Gallery.

Then we collapsed in our hotel.
