Day 1616 & 1617 (31/05 & 01/06/2014)

Weekend, so busy in the office but no swim as I let my body relax of a weekend.

Great dinner last night.

Tidied the front driveway today as the weeds were getting a bit of an embarrassment, even for me.

That's better but the wed killer will take a few days to kill of the small stuff.

Day 1615 (30/05/2014)

Guess what, a busy day in the office then went for a swim.

The traffic in Taunton is a nightmare at the moment and as a result I can understand how some mad Americans walk into a local council office with a machine-gun and wipe out the local highways department for making things so bad. Obviously I wouldn't do that (I'm not American and don't have a machine-gun) and it is clearly wrong but I bet it keeps them on their toes when they fuck up the traffic as they have in Taunton.

Stressful times but am hopeful for a positive outcome, one way or another.

Day 1614 (29/05/2014)

Busy day in the office and then went for a swim.

I couldn't decide what to have when I got back but there were some great cinnamon bagels.

Day 1613 (28/05/2014)

Busy day in the office and went for a swim. As always I spent the whole time thinking about lunch so when I came back I had a lovely cheese, apple and crisp sandwich.

Then in the evening we shared a lovely omelette.

A great day as far as food is concerned.

Day 1612 (27/05/2014)

Busy day in the office but didn't feel like a swim today.

Monday 26 May 2014

Day 1611 (26/05/2014)

Bank Holiday Monday and it is likely to be another nice relaxing day which will probably involved cutting the grass which is now very very long.

Saw this photo of Thomas on-line.

Was he really working or just supporting the team, hard to tell although I suppose we did see some evidence of him working.

And he also had a few publications.

Update - 17:30 - The garden is looking a bit better now.

Day 1609 & 1610 (24 & 25/05/2014)

A long relaxing weekend which was mostly spent eating a very lovely Chinese take away.

I needed the rest and feel better.

Sunday 25 May 2014

Day 1608 (23/05/2014)

The course finished and everyone seemed happy but if I'm honest it wasn't my best as I had other things on my mind.

Then off to Kelly's, which was great before picking Thomas up at Gatwick.

Then home for 3am after a long and tiring day.

Day 1607 (22/05/2014)

Course still going OK but food getting a bit boring as it is the same every day.

We went to a local Italian for dinner in the evening which was lovely.

Day 1606 (21/05/2014)

Course going OK, although with everything happening feeling slightly distracted and stressed.

We went to a diner for dinner where I thought I had ordered Nacho's for starters and a burger for dinner.

However it appeared that I ordered two main meals which we delivered to the table at the same time, so it was a man versus food session but I won.

Day 1605 (20/05/2014)

First day of the course and they were a great bunch of people, very varied, with most not being British but being good Europeans they all spoke very good English and coped well with the material.

The lunch was OK.

Then in the evening we met up with an old friend Colin who treated us to a curry at.

It was lovely, with far too much food.

Monday 19 May 2014

Day 1604 (19/05/2014)

A baking hot sunny day in London, just the sort of day to be wearing trousers and taking a long underground journey.

I gave two short presentations in the city, next to St Pauls.

Then a quick visit to this weeks venue, which has a distant view of Wembley Stadium. the room set aside for us is quite small and it will be a long hot week.

Just had a simple pub meal of the evening and an early night in bed.

Saturday 17 May 2014

Day 1602 & 1603 (17 & 18/05/2014)

Busy and unusual weekend, which I can't talk about yet but hopefully in a week or two I will mention it as another unusual learning experience in my life.

Anyway today a nice man gave me some old school plimsolls, just like the ones you used to get from Woolworth's.

Got to finish preparing for this weeks course & two presentations.

Day 1601 (16/05/2014)

Felt like shit with a bit of flu and an annoying chesty cough.

I went for a much needed haircut then had a funny few minutes, which I may talk about in a few weeks dependent on how things work out but importantly we are all OK, so nothing is that bad.

There are only minor irritants in life. It really is, if it doesn't kill you then it makes you stronger.

Kelly went over to Cardiff to see Gareth & Laura and ended up trying out the ice-sculpturing.

Day 1600 (15/05/2014)

It was nice and warm and I went for a  swim.

Just before a course I always feel like I don't want to do them any more as I hate going away but I really don't have a choice unless I get a proper job.

Wednesday 14 May 2014

Day 1599 (14/05/2014)

Last night was good, as we all went out for my wife's birthday, well all apart from Thomas who is still in the very hot Malta.

We went to The Sanctuary, which was nice but not quite as good as last time.

Then back to Mum & Dad's for some birthday cake.

Now back to work, preparing for next weeks course.

Tuesday 13 May 2014

Day 1598 (13/05/2014)

My wife's birthday and she's hardly changed.

Had a nice breakfast and a lazy day.

Monday 12 May 2014

Day 1597 (12/05/2014)

My wife is still off so I shouldn't work all day but she does have Kelly to keep her amused.

Out for a pizza in the evening.

Sunday 11 May 2014

Day 1595 & 1596 (10 & 11/05/2014)

After our great evening at Casamia we stayed at a local Holiday Inn, so had a nice breakfast.

Then off to see our friends Karen & Steve who we do not see enough. Then on the way home we saw Gary & Elaine.

The Fish & Chip shop down the road was just closing when I popped in and asked for a small cod & chips.

I think they just gave me what was left, so I did (& could not) not eat it all.

What a great day.

Had a lovely Sunday dinner, starting with a baked / glazed grapefruit,

then fillets of sea bass, samphire and garlic potatoes,

with butter sauce.

Then truly old skill for afters, with apple-pie with evaporated milk.

Yum Yum.

And Kelly is now home for a few days.

Friday 9 May 2014

Day 1594 (09/05/2014)

Bloody Hell, 27 years ago my wife was nearly 45 minutes for meeting me......... at the church on our wedding day.

I don't think we have changed at all. OK I'm now a fat middle aged git but my wife is still as lovely as ever.

And one for my aunty.

A lovely breakfast of poached eggs, smoked salmon on muffins.

Then off to Bristol to Casamia for a fantastic evening of food (and drink).

The food was unbelievable, so we will be back for next seasons menu.
