Day 2497 & 2498 (29 & 30/10/2016)

No choice, I have loads of work that has to be done and 2 training sessions to prepare for next week.

Did a nice salmon wellington dinner Saturday night.

On Sunday I bought some flowers for my wife, which is something I have always done, we both like having fresh flowers in the house.

I also bought some coconut, in ready to eat pots.

Did a nice dinner on Sunday then drove off to Manchester in the evening.

Day 2496 (28/10/2016)

Still no change in the office trying to kick start my effort to do some work.

Day 2495 (27/10/2016)

In the office, still avoiding work.

In the evening we went out for dinner to use up some vouchers.

Day 2494 (26/10/2016)

Busy in the office but with little enthusiasm to do anything, I may have overdone it the other month (I did). I'm quite looking forward to my new role and not having to do any more training.

Had a long overdue haircut in the afternoon.

Day 2493 (25/10/2016)

Back to normality, with lots of work for me in the office.

Had some nice Fish & Chips in the evening.

If you think that looks a lot, that was only half of one large portion, as we shared it between us. Maybe next time I will remember and buy the smaller size.

Friday 28 October 2016

Day 2492 (24/10/2016)

The day started with a nice breakfast.

We then had a drive around the area before going to a nearby stately home for an afternoon tea.

We then had a walk along the sea front, which was lovely.

Then a meal at the marina before driving home.

Day 2490 & 2491 (22 & 23/10/2016)

Saturday was a nice relaxing day at home, apart from having to do some reports and answer emails.

Had some nice pancakes for breakfast.

Sunday we wen down to Brighton to see our eldest.

We had a nice dinner at the hotel, then we were joined in our room for a bit of telly before they went back to their own place :-)

Wednesday 26 October 2016

Day 2489 (21/10/2016)

Our last morning, so we went back to the Coliseum bought some more guide tickets, so we didn't have to queue much but got to see inside quickly. The guide was quite interesting as showed pictures of how it had looked, which gave us a much better understanding.

Then a rush back to the hotel and a sit down to recover before getting back on the van to take us to the airport.

When we got their our flight was delayed by 90minutes so we went for something to eat which was quite nice, as tee had big pans of fresh pasta and you decide which sauce you wanted with it.

On the plane there was a woman who had 3 tickets for her and her 8yr old daughter, but they were sat in our seats and I was too tired to give up our seats together to accommodate idiots who can't find the right seat, even though they all in numbered rows etc.

I think, if it's a plane, a train, a cinema or the theatre, if you do not have some form of learning disability or impairment then if you can't find your seat when then are all numbered / lettered, then you shouldn't be allowed on. Garage but these people always annoy me. "Sorry I thought these wee out seats" have you never seen the alphabet in action, can you not count, just Fuck Off.

Then asleep nearly all the way back to Bristol.

On the coach, from the airport to the car park, I was putting our luggage next to the luggage rack, when an elderly man (who I just referred to as a C**T during the incident) swung his suit cases into the rack, smashing my finger against the rail, which really hurt (and drew some blood).

Initially I thought it was broken and despite me screaming at him the old C**T just walked off to the back of the coach. I think the rest of the coach were aware what the old C**T had done. I shouted after him and his wife that I hoped it would be a harsh winter and that he died, which in comparison to me punching him repeatedly in the face, was quite restrained of me.

At the car park my wife insisted I ask them for some ice. They made me fill out the accident book and they had special ice-bags (the photo is the one i got for my other bad finger) as it appears this is a regular occurrence.

This old C**T had his car (682 WAE) parked next to ours and it took him ages to pull away, I think he was clearly mad and beyond carrying suitcases or driving.

My wife had to drive us back as my finger was hurting. She hadn't driven my new car before, so it was interesting when we were on the motorway at 70mph and she went to put it in reverse. What fun.

Day 2488 (20/10/2016)

After breakfast we went up to the roof terrace, which offered a good view of the Colosseum and over the city.

Then we went on the coach towards the Vatican and paid the extra for a ticket with a tour guide (as it meant there was no queuing).

It was worth the extra money and the guide was quite informative.

You weren't allowed to take photos in the Sistine Chapel, so we got told off taking a couple.

We obviously took a few but tried to do it slyly, unlike the woman next to us who got told twice to stop but when she continued they marched her straight outside.

Then it was a look around the Vatican, where my comment about it being a silly place to leave kids unsupervised didn't go down well with the American couple in front of us but it was funny.

Then out for a quick refreshing drink and the bus back to the hotel.

We showered and dressed up and then went for another nice meal.
