Day 1768 (30/10/2014)

An early ish start as we had to make sure we were up and ready for the boiler being serviced.

As the boiler is only a year old the service only took about 15 minutes and everything was fine. Fingers crossed it stays that way and we should have a nice warm winter.

I went to the gym and my diet is back on course, with my weight going down very slowly but now that its winter I seem a bit hungrier.

Miked beans tonight, with a bit of sausage left over from last night.

Wednesday 29 October 2014

Day 1767 (29/10/2014)

Fruit & yoghurt followed by a session in the gym.

After my efforts to tidy my garden the other day, it seems to be full of leaves again.

How does that happen.

Day 1766 (28/10/2014)

I went for a meeting at a local Harley Davidson dealership,

which actually wasn't that weird as I knew they had a coffee shop there.

The meeting was with an old colleague, who had a very interesting life after we stopped working together. He had clearly become quite a scary expert at computers, telling me a few things he had got involved with.

We both shared the opinion that you should never trust people in the security services, with him saying they don't mind burning you after they have used you. Then he did me a favour and put some useful stuff on a memory stick for me.

Now this was really useful stuff but I had to put it on two other systems before putting it on my main computer, scanning it for every known virus, malware, spyware, as clearly he was a friend / colleague but I'm still sceptical as to his offer to help me.

The may possibly help me in my copyright fight and will not doubt cause discomfort to some police officers who I hate.

Day 1765 (27/10/2014)

Monday and back to the gym with a vengeance as I have slacked off the last couple of weeks. When I was at the gym I was also looking forward to my lunch of fruit & salad stuff.

And it was lovely.

Getting to grip with work as well.

Saturday 25 October 2014

Day 1763 & 1764 (25 & 26/10/2014)

The weekend is here and most of Saturday will be spent behind my desk but I had to tidy the garden for the winter.

I got another waste bin full of leaves.

I must buy a few more fleece covers for the plants, as it does protect them over the winter.

Now off to the gym, cycling & swimming.

Update - By the time I finished doing some stuff in the office yesterday the gym was nearly closed, so I didn't get to go in the end. I think I bet re-double my efforts next week.

Day 1762 (24/10/2014)

I'm nearly fully recovered so back to the gym for another good 30 minutes of swimming. I'm doing it by time now as opposed to counting the lengths but I'm pretty confident that it over the 40 lengths for half-a-mile.

Although I'm up to date with my research work I still have things to do in relation to the courses, as I have a few courses coming up. At least the London one won't be embarrassing as it will have half-a-dozen people on it and it won't lose money.

I'm feeling a bit more confident about work at the moment but I know I have quite some way to go to get the company back to where it was at the start of the year. It is very frustrating as running a business is hard enough without having to spend a lot of time and energy on things that shouldn't of happened.

Hopefully in a year or so, when everything is settled, I will know how much of a future my company has and what I shall be doing with my time..

It would have been so much easier if we had won the euro millions roll over of about £150 million last night.

We could have bought the £1 million house we like in Rottingdean and gradually retired to live by the sea. Plus we could have done a lot of good by giving most of the money away to friends and family. So really we have all lost out by us not winning it all.

Thursday 23 October 2014

Day 1761 (23/10/2014)

Just about over my cold & cough today, so I went to the gym for a long swim today.

Doing my work in the office and just about up to date but have to start preparing for a couple of courses coming up.

Day 1760 (22/10/2014)

I'm still struggling with my cough & cold. As a result I can't manage to go to the gym and need treating, food wise.

Plus I'm, having a lot of beechams lemon's with big spoon-full's of honey in them. As a result this is not a good week for the diet.

Tuesday 21 October 2014

Day 1759 (21/10/2014)

In the full grip of a really bad cold & cough.

OK, when I say really it's a bad cold & cough, I know its not ebola or bird flu, but it is making me feel ill; so ill I couldn't even go to the gym yesterday and I very much doubt I will have the energy to go again today.

Even though I feel really ill I have to do the work I have. Damn working for yourself, if I worked for a large company I would just go sick and not care.

Day 1758 (20/10/2014)

In Bedford for a presentation first thing. I didn't want to over sleep, so out of fear woke up ever hour throughout the night. As a result I was knackered in the morning.

I got to the venue and the heating had broken, on full blast, meaning the lecture theatre was lie a giant sauna. They opened the doors to help it cool down but its was still quite hot and stuffy.

It seemed to go down, then I had the long drive home and collapsed with my nasty cold and cough taking its toll on me.

Saturday 18 October 2014

Day 1756 & 1757 (18 & 19/10/2014)

The weekend started early with a nice egg & bacon roll, with Thomas going off to Southampton to photograph their match.

I did some work and had time to start tidying the garden, collecting the leaves and putting things away for the winter.

Having a nice meal tonight as my wife is home today.

Update - Our meal was nice last night.

And today I did a nice roast chicken dinner, with some Christmas pudding afterwards.

I know it's a strange time to have Christmas pudding but we found it in the cupboard and we couldn't throw it away as it was a Harrods one; it needed eating and it was lovely.

No off to Bedford for tomorrows talk.

Friday 17 October 2014

Day 1755 (17/10/2014)

I went to the gym, where I seem to be putting in much more effort on the weights and the sit-ups. I think that is why my weight hasn't gone own; it must be more muscle as I'm getting small and my clothes are looser or not as tight, which ever is spelt right.

Off to the Brewhouse tonight for the first time in a long time, to see Only Fools & Boycie - An Evening With John Challis, it could be fun.

Update - The evening was fun.

It would be true to say that it wasn't full of fun anecdotes  from Only Fools & Horses, it was much more a look at the career of John Challis.

We didn't stay for a photo or a signed boo but I took quick photo on the way out.

Day 1754 (16/10/2014)

On Thursday I was speaking at a conference for health insurance investigators, which went quite well; people seemed to enjoy it and hopefully I might get some extra courses as a result.

Someone was taking pictures, so there is a bit of me at work.

I picked up a few freebies but there weren't that many exhibitors, so I only got a calculator and highlighters.

I decided against staying for lunch and drove home early. Then went to the gym with my wife in the evening.

Wednesday 15 October 2014

Day 1753 (15/10/2014)

Last night me and my wife went to see Dave Gorman at the theatre in Yeovil.

He was very funny and allowed everyone to take a photo during a section of the show.

Today I have things to do before going away tonight as I am giving at an insurance investigators conference talk first thing on Thursday morning in Gerrards Cross. I had gone for staying there tonight as otherwise I would have to get up at about 3:30am to drive there otherwise.

One of the things I have to do today is book my hotel room for tonight as the people running the conference forgot to do it.  It is really nice to be wanted.

Tuesday 14 October 2014

Day 1752 (14/10/2014)

I didn't have beans on toast last night as I really fancied the left-over cauliflower cheese, which I had hot, as a sandwich with lots of ketchup. It was fantastic but with a craving like that and the way I look  it means I may be pregnant.

The sandwich was lovely but I have visited the bathroom about 6 times since the early hours, so I am thinking I may have already lost this weeks couple of lbs or even a couple of kilo's already.

I may market this new diet plan.

Off to see Dave Gorman tonight with my wife.

Monday 13 October 2014

Day 1751 (13/10/2014)

The day has been very dark, wet and cold; winter draws on, as they say, well they did in a carry-on film anyway.

I finally finished a very long and somewhat complex report for a client. It was 164 pages long and a pain to do. I have had it for nearly a month after saying that I would do it in a week or two but sometimes I just can't be arsed. Anyway they seem happy.

I went to the gym and the pool is still out of action, so I did 15 minutes on the bike and then a few more weights and a few sit-ups. I'm thinking that this might be building up my muscles and actually putting on weight but I still feel better for it.

I might have the curry beans later.

Saturday 11 October 2014

Day 1749 & 1750 (11 & 12/10/2014)

It is freezing, well it is in our house anyway.

After weeks of me suggesting we put the heating on my wife has now relented as it is October and it's so cold but as we haven't had the heating on since around March the boiler needs filling up a bit; however it's a new boiler and I can't remember how to do it and now that it is October the plumbers are busy and can't fit us in until the end of October.

Last night I sat watching the telly, with in addition to my usual t-shirt & shorts, a pair of socks and a blanket wrapped around me.

I think it is warmer outside.

Time to finish the outstanding work this weekend and to tidy the garden for the winter, so not exactly a relaxing weekend.

I went to the gym in the late afternoon but the pool was closed, so I just went to the gym.

Then for dinner it was fiery chilli beans on toast (and they were).

After a few days without heating, on Sunday I found a video on-line on how to top-up the boiler, so after squeezing into the garage I was able to top-up the boiler and then instant heat and happiness.

Also a nice dinner, with pork chops and lots of veg and a lovely bottle of Rosé.

Back on the beans on toast tomorrow.

Friday 10 October 2014

Day 1748 (10/10/2014)

Busy day catching up with things that had come into the office whilst I have been away.

Then I returned all of the training laptops back to the storage depot, then a car wash,

then off to the gym. I did 12 minutes on the bike, did some weights and sit-ups, with extra weight on the machine. Luckily my weight has come down again, even though I haven't been to the gym much over the last two weeks.

Then 25 minutes swimming as I had have my hair cut.

That's better.

A bit of irony today as I have been approached by a police force to help one of its officers who is being harassed on-line.

Update - I'm having beans on toast again tonight but the choice.

I went for BBQ :-)

Day 1747 (09/10/2014)

Finished the course on a very wet day and then drove home.

I was hungry and was thinking about stopping off on the way but decided to drive all the way and then have beans on toast as soon as I got back. It was lovely.

Wednesday 8 October 2014

Day 1746 (08/10/2014)

You know the day is never going to go well when it starts with you sleeping through your alarm. It was set for 7:30am but I woke up at 8:19am but was still able to wash and get ready and be at the venue by 8:45am.

It was pouring with rain and I got soaked just walking from the car park across the road to the venue.

The rest of the day was OK but I'm looking forward to be back home.

Thinking it may be Chinese or similar tonight.

Update - decided to stay at the hotel tonight for dinner, as the great British Bake Off and Scott & Bailey are on tonight.

I started with a goats cheese salad.

Then the best steak & chips I have had in a very long time.

Yum Yum Yum :-)

Tuesday 7 October 2014

Day 1745 (07/10/2014)

Yesterday was very busy, it would have been better if I hadn't gone to the gym but I needed to get back in to the routine after taking most of last week off. I upped the cycling to 12 minutes, did the weight lifting and sit-ups then did my half a mile swim.

I had aimed to leave home by about 5pm at the latest but in the end it was gone 7:45pm by the time I had everything ready.

My hotel is quite nice, with a nice sized slightly posh room but it's never the same when I am alone.

I started this weeks three day training session and it went quite well but the reception for the internet isn't great.

Looking forward to dinner later but I'm not sure what I will have yet.

Update - OK it was a curry.

In my defence I didn't have breakfast or lunch today and only had a couple of banana's when I got back at 5pm tonight, so i was quite hungry. And I did walk in to town to find a restaurant, so that counts as exercise right.

Monday 6 October 2014

Day 1744 (06/10/2014)

OK this was very bad planning. My wife is still off for a few days and I have to leave later as I have three days training to do in Royal Tunbridge Wells but needs must and I tried to book others dates but they wanted this and sometimes it's about the money.

I also have loads still to do before I can go, so I couldn't even have a lie-in.

Plus I must go to the gym.

After last week being on the beach with an ice-cream it appears winter is really here now, its cold dark and very wet.

Day 1742 & 1743 (04 & 05/10/2014)

Saturday we spent the day with Kelly and went for a Chinese in the evening before driving home.

On Sunday we took my Mum & Dad out for dinner to Oake Manor Golf Club for their Anniversary.

The meal was nice and the company was great as always.

Day 1741 (03/10/2014)

It was hard to believe that it was October as we spent the morning walking along the coast in the sunshine and even enjoyed an ice-cream.

Then a fishy risotto for lunch and a walk around Brighton.

Then a Mexican and a burrito for diner.

A great day spent with Kelly and me and my wife have fallen in love with Rottingdean.

Day 1740 (02/10/2014)

Thursday morning started with a healthy fruit breakfast,

then a slightly less healthy full English.

Then we went to Petworth House, a National Trust property for a walk around in the sun.

Then off to catch up with Kelly and to grab a small bit to eat, OK well far too much to eat a great American Dinner called JB's in Brighton.

It was great but far too much, so next time I shall just order a hot dog.
