Day 1980 & 1981 (30 & 31/05/2015)

Hardly a relaxing weekend with still lots to do before driving up to York on Sunday evening.

I again made time for the gym.

Am I getting slimmer or just looking tired, probably a bit of both.

Day 1979 (29/05/2015)

A hectic couple of days between courses, what idiot booked all of these courses, one after another.

I hate being away from home and my family and in previous years I used to do no more than one a month or two at a push but because things were looking very quiet work wise I did a few presentation and offered courses quite cheaply to some people from councils, who then asked for the courses.

In the afternoon I made time for the gym, which was hard work as I hadn't been all week and was knackered.

Then in the evening we had a Chinese to save the trouble of cooking.

It was lovely.

Day 1978 (28/05/2015)

The course finished and went quite well, there is talk of me going back out there to do a few more.

Then home.

The house is a bit quieter, with it now just being my wife and I for the next three months :-)

Day 1977 (27/05/2015)

Second day of the course went well and in the evening I went out with the manager who booked me and we had a drink.

And some nice food. A black pudding & apple salad.

Then an Irish Stew.

Well I had to.

Day 1976 (26/05/2015)

First day of the course in Dublin and it went quite well.

Another plus was that had even arranged some sandwiches for lunch.

In the evening I went out and had a Mexican in a little side street cafe.

And then a waffle &an ice-cream on the way back to the hotel.

Both were lovely.

Day 1975 (25/05/2015)

A nice relaxing sunny bank holiday is what I really need but not what I've got as I have things to do and am flying out to Dublin later.

The money will come in handy but I hate being away and will miss Thomas leaving to go to Crete for 3 months.

I got to the airport earlier in case there was bad bank holiday traffic.

On the plane from Bristol to Dublin was David O'Doherty, the Irish comedian.

He is the one in the blue baseball cap.

I am staying in the Gresham, which is a really posh (and expensive) hotel where me and my wife had a lovely afternoon tea a few years ago.

The room is nice but I only really booked it as it's just around the corner from the venue.

Day 1973 & 1974 (23 & 24/05/2015)

I gave the grass a quick cut, so it won't be too long whilst I'm away but I had to spend time in my office as it has suddenly become a rush job to get everything sorted for the courses, especially next weeks as I'm flying out to Dublin on Monday.

So what joy when my printer developed a major fault and stopped working.

I had only just bought more replacement toner, so I had to buy a new printer, which I could use them in.

I could have done without the extra work & hassle.

In the evening we all went to Mum & Dads for tea ans a chat about their holiday.

Sunday - made a nice starter of asparagus, with parma ham and poached egg.

Then a crab, prawn & avocado salad.

Yum yum yum.

Day 1972 (22/05/2015)

Friday I eventually started getting ready for the courses coming up, but the printer was playing up and it was taking ages to print the material.

I went to the gym in the afternoon.

I will sort of miss it over the next few weeks as I am away for most of it but will try to go when I can.

In the evening I went to see Richard Herring at The Brewhouse, which as always was great.

Day 1971 (21/05/2015)

Still busy in the office but I don't appear to have done anything.

Went to the gym again for another full workout to Marillion.

Day 1970 (20/05/2015)

I had meant to spend the week getting ready for the next three weeks of courses but I've not started on that yet, so it might be a busy weekend as I'm flying to Dublin on Monday and have changes that I have to make to the course.

I went to the gym early today, working out to Marillion.

Today I thought I would show the sit-up machine.

Then I went to give blood.

It was OK and the tea & biscuits was welcome as was the break from the office.

I got back home, had a sandwich and then fell asleep.

Day 1969 (19/05/2015)

Another day in the office but I got around to sending a few emails that will piss of the West Midlands Police. I'm hoping that eventually they will see the benefit is just saying sorry and paying me what I'm owed.

Back to the gym where I went another round with the punch-bag.

Day 1968 (18/05/2015)

Totally knackered but up to do some stuff in the office and then off to the gym where I have added a few minutes on the punch-bag to my routine.

Day 1966 & 1967 (16 & 17/05/2015)

Thomas went off early to Southampton for a match and I finally caught up with my blog.

I have some stuff to do in the office but aim to cut the grass and go to the gym, whilst my wife visits her mum.

Grass cut, seats put out for the summer and gnomes washed.

I even got a round to putting out the water feature.

Looking good, now to spend more time relaxing in there.

Sunday was an early morning and a drive to Southampton to pick up my parents after their cruise.

Thankfully they had a really nice holiday without any disasters, for a change.

We had a nice dinner afterwards, then all fell asleep.

Day 1965 (15/05/2015)

It was a busy start to the day.

I had to go to Yeovil for a long chat to some nice people, which I'm sure I will talk about again soon but don't worry I'm not in trouble for a change. And at the same time the maintenance came over ans fixed the fence, sorted out the very noisy flush on the toilet and the dripping tap in the ensuite.

He was all done by the time I got back.

Then I went to the gym, came home and fell asleep, so decided to have the rest of the day off and stay downstairs watching the telly with my wife.

Day 1964 (14/05/2015)

We had another lazy morning and nice breakfast, finishing off the fruit with the waffles & walnut bread.

I had some stuff to do but went to the gym in the afternoon.

It still feels like a chore but I'm feeling very positive about it this time.

Then in the evening I went to my pensioners group.

Day 1963 (13/05/2015)

My wife's birthday, so Let her have a lie-in and then made her a nice breakfast, with a bottle of bucks-fizz.

Then we had a fairly relaxing day, which did involve a visit to the gym. In the afternoon we had some birthday cake, with Kelly on Skype.

Then I made a very nice meal and opened a few bottles of champagne.

Quite a nice day.

Day 1962 (12/05/2015)

It was nice to wake up in my own bed, even though I had been staying in a nice hotel for the last few nights.

It was a bit of an early morning as we had a dentists appointment but then back into the office to catch up with things that had come in whilst I was away.

The sun is still out so will try to spend some time in the garden this week.

In the afternoon I went to the gym, spending an exhausting 15 minutes on the bike then doing some weights and even sit-ups.

I really feel the urge to be good from now on, even though I know I will be hungry and exhausted.

Day 1961 (11/05/2015)

On our last day in London we caught the tube over to Key Gardens for a relaxing day wandering around the grounds.

It is a lovely place where you could spend a whole day but it was boiling hot, especially in the green-houses.

I really regretted not wearing my shorts & t-shirt, damn this dressing smart.

So after a hot day wandering around Kew we sat on a hot tube to get back into the centre of London, pick-up our bags and then back on the Tube to get to Paddington in time to spend an hour at Yo-Sushi.

Honestly my wife selected most of these but I probably eat most of them.

Then home, where Thomas picked us up from the train station.

Day 1960 (10/05/2015)

After the excess of yesterdays glorious afternoon-tea we headed down for a lovely breakfast and then met up with Kelly in Trafalgar Square.

Then we went off to Harrod's for a wander around, mostly in the toy department where they had some great lego models

and some lovely ice-creams.

In the evening we had a lovely meal in Leicester Square, sitting outside in the sunshine.

What a lovely day.
