Day 1682 (05/08/2014)

Much the same as recently; work in the office but not as much as I needed to do, then off to the gym.

Off to Bedford tomorrow afternoon to give a talk on Thursday morning. I'm missing home & my wife already and I've not even packed or left yet. The things I do to earn a living.

Day 1681 (04/08/2014)

Well lets re-cap yesterday.

Tesco's didn't have a great choice of fish when I went shopping, so I bought a basic chicken paella and added so scallops, king prawns and muscles.

Yum yum yum.

We also had a couple of large jugs of Pimms.

They were great but left us both slightly pissed.

Then Kylie was on the telly, what a great evening.

Been doing some things in the office but not much and doing more in the gym.

Since I said I need to lose 1kg a week I seem to be putting on 1kg a week. I need to start the green juice diet as soon as the juicer arrives but may need to add some fruit & nuts to munch on as I can't just live on juice alone.

Nice to have Thomas back after more than a week away.

Day 1679 & 1680 (02 & 03/08/2014)

It's the weekend, so a couple of days of not going to the gym, so I suspect I shall put on more weight this weekend but that's no reason to be disheartened, just have to work harder during the week.

I got a letter from my local MP today, let see what happens but I doubt it will have much of an effect.

Off out for dinner tonight with my dads family, expect photos later.

Sunday Update - Well last night was a great evening.

The company & fun both very good. Will have to get some photos from my Dad of everyone else, I just record the food :-)

Day 1678 (01/08/2014)

August already, how did that happen. On the bright-side it means a new picture of Kylie.

With everything going on in Gaza, the daily horrors on the news, its hard not to have hatred for Israel and nothing but sympathy for the Palestinians.

I really have nothing against Jewish people but you have to say the State of Israel are utter cunts. They just don't understand the irony of doing to Palestinians what the Germans did to them; and if you dare speak out against them they say you are anti-semitic and compare you to Nazi's.

There is a great Jeremy Hardy joke / quote about someone who does not recognise the state of Israel, "I don’t know why he doesn’t recognise Israel; it’s the same shape as Palestine, give or take – mainly take, obviously".

It is worth comparing the countries.

So Israel are utter cunts and its hard not to support the Palestinians. Until the Palestinians are at peace there will be no peace in the world.

Day 1677 (31/07/2014)

I had a meeting at the University of Central Lancashire in the morning which went as well as I could have expected.

I know I need money to survive but there are times when I no longer feel that I want to work, other than to do my writing, then there are other times, like today, when you can see interesting opportunities ahead.

Also it's not just me as my work supports others, so there is always more to consider than just what I want.

It is all very dependent on what happens to me over the next few months but I think it will end up somewhere in the middle but it would be nice not to have to work any more.

Day 1676 (30/07/2014)

Busy morning doing some stuff in the office, getting some new glasses then driving up to to Preston for a couple of meetings.

Obviously need to eat whilst I'm there, so I expect a visit to an Indian restaurant late.

It did,

and it was quite nice.

Day 1675 (29/07/2014)

Back at home, so will aim to go to the gym later.

In the morning I had a meeting with my local MP, at a country pub, who said he would help me in my current predicament and would be writing to the Home Secretary.

Then in the office working, whilst my gardeners did the hedge around my garden.

Busy day today as tomorrow I have to go up north as I have a meeting with the University in Lancaster.

Day 1674 (28/07/2014)

There was a heavy thunder storm overnight but the rest of the day, which we spent with Kelly, was lovely.

Always great to spend time with her. Next time will be up in Edinburgh.

Saturday, 26 July 2014

Day 1672 & 1673 (26 & 27/07/2014)

I don't go to the gym at the weekend but the next time I do go I will have to remember to put in a different age as its my birthday tomorrow.

This is always a time of mixed emotions but I suppose it does get easier with the passage of time but I think we all miss Kim so much, every day.

My Mum & Dad are away for the weekend and Thomas is going away for a week on a photography assignment covering the cricket and a football match, so we are off to Brighton to see Kelly for my birthday.

Saturday - We went via Bridgwater, to take some flowers to Kim.

We aim to go every month to keep it looking nice with fresh flowers but sometimes its a little bit longer. Always poignant.

Then off to Brighton to see Kelly,

and have a nice Chinese.

Then back to Kelly's where she had made me a lovely carrot cake.

Sunday - It's my Birthday and we spent the day with Kelly in Rottingdean, having a lovely Sunday roast at Ye Old Blackhorse.

Then back to Kelly's where my wife did a cake for me,

yes she put the candles as 74 not 47, hahaha.

Day 1671 (25/07/2014)

Similar for yesterday and the day before etc, its hot, in the office then the gym.

Having thought more about my plans to fit into my old pepe jeans by this time next year I have realised that this would mean loosing 1Kilo every week for a year. This may be quite a hard task.

Thursday, 24 July 2014

Day 1670 (24/07/2014)

Like yesterday, hot (I'm not complaining), a bit of work in the office and then in the gym.

I did my usual routine in the gym and then 30 lengths in the pool. I'm feeling better and apparently I have lost 2 stone since I was in hospital in January but I am the same weight as when I first went to the gym a couple of years ago.

Hopefully I can loose another 4 stone by Christmas and then another 5 stone by my 48th Birthday. I should then be close to fitting into my size 32 pepe jeans from 1986.

Also this should mean that my snoring wont be so bad next year.

As I've been sweating so much in the heat I've had quite a short haircut.

Day 1669 (23/07/2014)

A bit of a similar theme again today, its hot, I spent time in the office but still not fully able to concentrate 100% on work, then off to the gym.

Had a nice dinner but my wife did a prawn cocktail for starters. I was just about to tuck into it when she came back to sprinkle some paprika on the top.

Unfortunately it didn't sprinkle out so she hit it hard and emptied half a pack on paprika on my prawn cocktail.

Oh well.

Wednesday, 23 July 2014

Day 1668 (22/07/2014)

Tuesday was a hot day in the office & the gym, then off to Cosmo in Bristol for a multi birthday for Thomas Elaine and me.

It might not look like it but this was a lot less than I had last time we went there.

Then it was back to Gary & Elaine's for tea & a chat, hearing about his new friend, Mr Snappy the Bristol Crocadile.

Then Kelly made a few stickle-brick models, a McDonalds meal and a monkey in a banana tree.

Monday, 21 July 2014

Day 1667 (21/07/2014)

The weather is still great and we seem to have missed out on the storms that hit many others over the weekend.

I went to the gym again today but had to cut my swim short as I had mis-timed my visit and ended up visiting at the time of the old ladies aqua-aerobics session.

Still don't have enough enthusiasm for work.

Saturday, 19 July 2014

Day 1665 & 1666 (19 &20/07/2014)

We had a new washing machine installed yesterday,

what an exciting life we lead.

Thomas is off in Birmingham for weekend for the annual get together for his agency, so I doubt anyone will take photo's of the go-karting and drunken behaviour.

We had some great curry themed Burritos last night.

Another winner from Kelly, our visiting chef.

It is supposed to pour down this weekend but if it stays dry long enough I will cut the grass and aim to have a relaxing time.

Friday, 18 July 2014

Day 1664 (18/07/2014)

Me & Kelly went to the cinema last night to watch a National Theatre Live showing of SkyLight, with Bill Nighy and Carey Mulligan.

It was very good and not overly long.

Also I had a very nice frozen green yogurt, with honey.

Getting back on top of my work but really behind in writing my book, which I must get done this summer.

Looking forward to Burritos later.

Thursday, 17 July 2014

Day 1663 (17/07/2014)

Yesterday was fun, with Thomas's Birthday.

And then all out for a curry in the evening.

Loads of things to do in the office but so little enthusiasm.

Wednesday, 16 July 2014

Day 1662 (16/07/2014)

It's hard to believe that this was 20years ago today.

Thomas is now taller than all of us and his mother still looks after him as much as when he was first born.

It must be said that Kelly still looks good in a hat.

I on the other hand still have the same haircut, still wear shorts & t-shirts every day but am substantially larger.

Tuesday, 15 July 2014

Day 1661 (15/07/2014)

Recovered from yesterday's long drive and back to the gym. I have set the 10minute cycle at a harder level and added another set of weights to my routine.

Doing work in the office and looking forward to Kelly coming home later.

Day 1660 (14/07/2014)

Up early, to finish of a report then drive to Coventry do a few hours training and then drive straight back.

I was totally knackered and was in bed by about 11pm as I couldn't keep my eyes open.
