We were up early to get ready and finish packing before leaving for the airport only 20 minutes after I said we had to leave, which is good for us. The drive to the airport was good and then we flew through security at the airport for the first time ever, so we had time to relax with a breakfast roll and coffee before getting on the flight.
Obviously Thomas had a pint to start the holiday properly.
Arriving in Italy we again flew through security & immigration which was most unexpected, then had a good train journey into Rome and an expensive & scary taxi journey from the train station to the apartment, which was actually quite nice.
Lee joined us after a couple of hours, so we went to a nearby restaurant for some lovely food then off to bed.
