Well the good news was that the hedge / fence man turned up and started work.
The bad news was that the local parish councillor who lives at the back of our house, who has previously complained about our parking and us having some trees trimmed, spoken with the workman telling them we weren't allowed to have a 6' fence in front of our house, only a 3' one.
I didn't go to the gym as I was waiting to take my dad to the hospital for his glaucoma treatment but in the end they walked over.
