It was a fairly dry day, which was good as we were having the gutters & facias cleared and cleaned as they were blocked with weeds growing out of them.
Looking so much better now and well worth the money.
In the evening we went off to Weston Super Mare to meet up with Gary & Elaine, starting with for fish & chips, which were really nice.
And then off to see Ben Elton, as an early Birthday present for Gary.
At the time, I thought that maybe because of the speed of his delivery and occasional slurred / mis-spoken words, that maybe I was missing some of the sub context of his routine but clearly after discussing it with Gary, I wasn’t.
Ben Elton seems like an old man, now trying to seem relevant & popular, and so is now playing up to common / popular right wing stereo types – as in social media is bad and innocent beliefs & comments get you cancelled. And the obvious anti gender trans comments. Part of his delivery seemed as if it could have been delivered by Jim Davidson.
What a shame.
After the show me and my wife went to the seafront and then home.
