Day 1959 (09/05/2015)

It was our 28th Wedding Anniversary, so after a nice breakfast we decided to be tourists and visit a few of the sites in London.

We went to Buckingham Palace.

Then thru the park where they had some war time stuff on display for  the VE Celebrations.

Then off to down to Downing Street, where about an hour or two after we left there was a riot against the Tory's & Austerity.

Then off to the Savoy for Afternoon High Tea.

They even gave  us a little cake for our anniversary.

What a lovely day, their special lemon curd was unbelievable.

Day 1958 (08/05/2015)

The second day of the conference was more interesting and it was probably worth me attending; although as always  I managed to upset a couple of people.

Then it was a bit of a rush as I had to go from the conference and pick up my bag from the previous nights hotel and then book into my new hotel. Then go to Paddington and meet up with Leah, to save her navigating the underground the system by herself, and take her to the hotel.

That was an exhausting 90 minutes.

We opted to stay at the hotel and eat at the Indian Restaurant, which was lovely (as it was to see my wife after a few nights away by myself).

The start of a fun few days, with too much food & drink.

Day 1957 (07/05/2015)

The first day of the conference and to be honest it was quite boring but for various reasons I had to be hear.

But on the upside there was a nice lunch.

In the evening I did a few tourists sites.

Day 1956 (06/05/2015)

I had a busy day but just about had time for a swim and to pop in and see my mum & dad before I went away to London & they went on their holiday to America.

Fingers crossed that they have a safe & fun holiday.

I caught a train to London and then stayed at the Civil Service Club, in a room with the smallest bathroom in the world. I must remember never have room 402 again.

Day 1955 (05/05/2015)

Back to work, with a few things to do before going to London for a few days at a conference and then a few days to relax with my wife.

I had a hair cut, as it was touching my ears,

and then went for a swim.

Day 1954 (04/05/2015)

We had a lazy relaxing morning, as Bank Holiday's should be.

It meant it was quite late by the time me and my wife went out and the weather had taken a turn for the worse.

We thought we would head for the coast for fish & chips but when we got there it was pouring with rain, so at least we had a choice of parking spaces to eat our fish & chips whilst watching the waves & rain roll in.

It might not have been everyone's idea of a fun bank holiday day out but I enjoyed it lots.

Day 1952 & 1953 (02 & 03/05/2015)

Even though there was rain in the air I definitely had to cut the grass today, so in the end I did it straight after breakfast rather than in the afternoon.

And it was a good job I did as the rain really came down in the afternoon.

I'm feeling like crap and must take some time off for myself, well at least with my wife anyway, as I continue at this level with everything that is going on in my life for too much longer.

As I say every year, definitely next year I'm going to be doing less.

Sunday was fairly relaxing, with a very nice roast beef for dinner.

Day 1951 (01/05/2015)

As its the first of May it's Kylie day.

Isn't she lovely.

It was another early morning to get a report done then out for a swim.

I'm desperate for a easy life or just a quiet life but my life is frantic and so complicated at the moment. I rarely cope well with pressure or concentrating on more than one thing at a time but at the moment I am juggling so many balls, so to speak, its exhausting.

I had an interesting conversation in the afternoon.

Day 1950 (30/04/2015)

Catching up with things after yesterdays presentation.

It was a bit of a mad rush and didn't have time for a swim as in the evening I went to my regular pensioners meeting.

Always lovely food and this week lots of things to talk about.

Day 1949 (29/04/2015)

A very early morning as I was flying from Bristol to Dublin, to give a talk for Insurance Ireland.

The talk was next to the Lansdown Aviva Rugby Stadium.

There were about 150 people present, with all the men in suits, well all apart from me but I heard later apparently it was one of the things that some of the people liked about me, I was a breath of fresh air and spoke in a way that meant something to them.

Very unlike the normal insurance person.

It went really well and I even had a couple of emails asking about courses before I got home but it was a long day.

Day 1948 (28/04/2015)

A busy Tuesday but with a nice breakfast with my wife to start the day off.

Then I managed to get the man straight round to fix the oven.

It only took him 15 minutes to replace the heating element, which had completed blown apart.

I went for a swim in the afternoon and then spent a little while preparing for tomorrows presentation in Dublin.

Day 1947 (27/04/2015)

Busy Monday in the office but I found time for a swim and to go shopping (long story don't ask)

I still have lots to do, things to catch up on but getting there slowly.

It's quite without Kelly but we will see her again in a couple of weeks.

Sunday, 26 April 2015

Day 1945 & 1946 (25 & 26/04/2015)

The weather has been great all week and although I had loads to do in the office my main intention of the weekend was to cut the grass and get it ready for the summer.

So obviously whilst I was out buying the grass feed & moss killer it started raining, damn. It didn't stop for the rest of the day.

I managed to go swimming in the afternoon, so that was five times this week, which was good but I must get back upstairs to the actual gym.

On Sunday I had a bit of a disaster, well a first world disaster, so nothing major just annoying really.

As I was getting dinner ready the power went off. I checked the fuse board and reset the power, so no problem and I thought nothing more about it.

An hour later I was checking my roast potatoes and realised that the main over had broke (it happens every couple of years, a blown element) and my potatoes hadn't been cooking. I had to put them in the top over ut now I didn't have time to make them a crisp as I wanted and get dinner ready for 4:45pm as Kelly was going back home afterwards.

It ended up as a compromise, with vegetables nearly done right, dinner at 5:30pm and Kelly left a bit later than planned.

It was great to have Kelly back here for the week.

Day 1944 (24/04/2015)

My postal ballot arrived and I voted today as I am away in London during the election.

Usually we only have the three main parties standing, so it was nice to have an actual choice, although there were only two I could vote for with a clear conscience (not counting the two Independents, one who was a chancer after a job and the other one of whom might as well be standing for the Nazi's).

In the afternoon Kelly made some cup cakes she found in the cupboard, very nice.

In the evening we all went out for dinner for dinner with my Mum & Dad and Gary & Elaine.

The food was quite nice and the company excellent, as always.

Day 1943 (23/04/2015)

In the morning me and Kelly went off to the University of South Wales, so I could give a talk to some students for Peter.

It seemed to go down OK although I wasn't at my best, as it was a rush to set-up (not my fault, a slightly late lunch organised by them), my computer started playing up and I had a nose bleed.

On the way back we stopped off to see my friend Sam, so Kelly could check out her animals.
