Day 4300 & 4301 (09 & 10/10/2021)

It's the weekend and time to catch-up with things, relax and have some nice food & drink.

It was quite an early start as I had to have my flu jab.

In the afternoon we went to Bridgwater and then had a picnic overlooking Hawkridge Reservoir, which was quite nice.

Then we had a drive around try to get on to the Quantocks before giving in and going to Watchet for a walk around the docks.

Then home for a nice Italian.

Did a nice duck breasts in hoisin sauce for dinner on Sunday.

Another busy day in the office.

A very busy day in the office, so no gym again today.

In the evening we went for a Harvester, which was nice, with the staff doing the salad bar for you, so fairly covid safe etc.

Day 4297 (06/10/2021)

A busy morning running an online training session, then off to Asda for an eye test and getting new glasses. My eyes have changed since my last test and now due to family circumstances I need to have yearly eye tests.

Then back to work for more meetings.   

In the evening I managed to find some online sites to sell my old mobiles, which had been  sat on my desk for at least a year. I'm glad to clear them off of my desk and if I get a few £ then I will be even more happy. 

Day 4296 (05/10/2021)

A busy morning in the office and at the gym.

Then me and my wife went to see my parents whose Wedding Anniversary it is. Originally we were going to go out in the evening but my dad has a bad cough, so we just went over for tea & cake.

Then back home for a pizza and then the evening at work.

Day 4295 (04/10/2021)

A busy morning, with a visit to the dentist, where I surprisingly didn't need a filling. Then off to the gym before lunch.

Day 4293 & 4294 (02 & 03/10/2021)

A cold & wet weekend, still catching up on work. 

In the evening i made a meal I had seen online, Moroccan chickpea and chargrilled vegetable stew, very tasty

And did a plum crumble for afters, using the plums that Sam had given me.

On Sunday I did roasted pork chops, which were very tasty.

And used the left over plums in a quick pie.

Another busy day in the office and we had some lovely fish and chips in the evening.

Very busy in the office and had to get a new keyboard as my old one broke.

A busy day trying to catch-up with things.

Day 4288 (27/09/2021)

It was nice to wake up, looking out over Worthing which is a nice place. 

Then we headed home after a nice breakfast but stopped off at Bournemouth for a walk along the beach and a little relax.

Then carried on home, driving past multiple closed petrol stations or ones with long queues but were able to get £30 at Asda in Taunton. 

Day 4286 & 4287 (25 & 26/09/2021)

The day started OK, with a nice breakfast, although because of the shortages they didn't have any sausages. 

Then off to pick up the hire van to move Lee.

They were really organised and had just about packed everything and the move wasn't a problem but what made it slightly trouble sum was that;

1 - it was the Labour party conference in Brighton, which explained why it had been hard and expensive to get a hotel room anywhere along the south coast and also added to the traffic in Brighton.  

 

2 - the main A27 was closed for resurfacing, putting all the traffic through Worthing and Brighton, which really added to the time taken to get from one flat to the other and was badly timed given the labour party conference in Brighton.  

3 - we had to return the hire vehicle with a full tank of fuel or be charged £4 a litre and there was no fuel in Brighton, so was expensive.

After the move we were quite dirty and smelly and but stopped for a drink and a pizza.

On Sunday we met up again and tried to help finish off with the move and then went for a Mexican in the evening.

Day 4285 (24/09/2021)

Off for a few days with my wife and heading to Brighton to help Lee move. 

We left fairly early for us but it was an awful and long journey, with queues at every petrol station.

We were staying at The White Horse in Rottingdean for the last time, which seems odd.

In the evening we met up with Lee and had a curry, which was OK but slightly annoying that they had taken over the restaurant but didn't have an alcohol licence.

Day 4284 (23/09/2021)

Had a busy morning & afternoon in the office and then went off to Cardiff to meet up with a friend, who I hadn't seen for for more than 2 years and to see the comedian, Phil Wang.

He was quite good, not the funniest but worth seeing and nice to start getting back to normal, even if the theatre had plenty of space between the seats etc.
