Day 2688 (09/05/2017)

30 years since our wedding and where could be more romantic than spending it with each other in Venice. We opened our cards, and had a nice breakfast.

It said the weather was going to rain all day, so we set off not expecting it to be the baking hot day it turned out.

We had a wander round the streets and had a trip on a gondola.

St Marks Square was lovely but very hot.

Thankfully a chilled bottle of Presseco and a pizza helped.

Followed by some nice ice-creams and lattes.

On the way back we saw a policeman operating a speed trap on the boats :-)

Then back to the hotel for a cool beer on the patio area before coming back and having a nice glass of Presseco before going out for dinner.

Another great night.

Day 2687 (08/05/2017)

We were up fairly early but it still seemed to be a rush to get to the airport for lunchtime.

The flight wasn't sold out so we had a bit more room and it was OK as it was just less than 2 hours anyway.

We managed to get thru the airport security and baggage area quite quickly and in no time our driver had delivered us to Venice, where we had a little walk to our hotel, which we were very impressed with.

There was even a bit of a view of the canal from the window (if you lent out far enough)

Then we went for dinner in a canal-side restaurant, just opposite the hotel, which was really nice.

Then a little romantic walk back to the hotel, in the rain.

A lovely day.

Day 2685 & 2686 (06 & 07/05/2017)

Saturday started without our usual nice breakfast as my wife had to be in Bristol early to help with clearing out her mothers house, whilst I spent most of the day getting my work up to date so I could have the week off.

I made a nice Aberdeen Angus Sausage, with buttery cheddar mash and an onion gravy for dinner.

Sunday was Dad's birthday and after going over their for breakfast we had everyone over to ours for a nice pork roast dinner.

And a fantastic cake made by Gary & Elaine.

A very afternoon & evening.

Day 2684 (05/05/2017)

Still working in the office, trying to have everything done before going away for a few days next week.

Day 2683 (04/05/2017)

I spent the morning and afternoon doing some work in the office but had to take timeout for an overdue haircut.

Then in the evening we had to take my mother-in-law to a Doctors for an examination in relation to her accident. Whilst I waited I discovered why the usb cable I kept in that car had never really work.

It was slightly annoying as my phone was at only 15% so it meant I had to site waiting doing nothing for an hour instead of using the time to play on my phone.

On the way back home we stopped off to allow my wife to vote in the local council elections.

Day 2682 (03/05/2017)

A day spent a bit in the office and a bit relaxing.

The hedge-man called round in the evening to discus re-turfing the grass, which is a real mess at the moment.

Day 2681 (02/05/2017)

I busy sort of day and our cleaner was ill, so the the house didn't get tided :-(

Had some nice pizza hut delivered in the evening.

Day 2680 (01/05/2017)

May Bank Holiday Monday, so a new Kylie picture on the calendar.

The day started with a nice breakfast, using Tony's chicken's eggs, which are very tasty.

Then after doing some work in the office, then filling the washer bottles in the cars I tackled thew garden, fore the first time this year. There were still leaves piled up from the winter and the grass is basically full of moss & weeds.

The hedge-man is coming over on Wednesday to see about re-turfing the grass, so I needed to make it a bit more presentable.

It looked a lot better afterwards but I was knackered.

The plan is to have a BBQ every week this summer and actually make use of the garden, which I hope comes off as I have been looking at some tasty BBQ recipes.
