Day 6083 & 6084 (29 & 30/08/2026)

I was up fairly early, as the workman are back doing the decking, so I had to make sure the gate was open and the driveway clear. We had a nice brunch, whilst the rain came down. 

Most of the decking is now done and starting to look very good. 

In the evening I made tasty coconut fish curry.

With saag paneer. 

All very lovely, with some chilled Indian lager.

Say my parents Sunday morning for breakfast, then home to do a few things and make a tasty roast chicken dinner. 

Very nice, with a glass of wine. 

Day 6082 (28/08/2026)

I went to the gym very early, as I needed to charge the car up, as Thomas was going down to Portsmouth, to meet up with Lee to go to a festival. 

Then we went out to Bridgwater, to lay some flowers at Kim's and then we did some shopping back in Taunton, including getting my wife some nice flowers.   

I did an old school prawn cocktail for starters. 

Seemed like the kids were enjoying themselves in Portsmouth. 

I then made a nice Chinese style salmon dinner, with noodles, and a nice glass of wine. 

Day 6081 (27/08/2026)

I did some stuff in the office in the morning, then took my wife to work and then had her car, to go to the gym.

I did some stuff in the office but have definitely taken the decision to to retire from training, and do less work and spend time writing, and feel better for it. 

My wife made a tasty / strange dinner in the evening. 

Day 6080 (26/08/2026)

No gym today, as I as up and getting ready fairly early, and went into Bristol to do a few things and to meet Shanner's for coffee. 

As I had trouble with a couple of chargers in Bristol, I ended up at a McDonalds with a trouble free Instavolt charge, and so had a chicken wrap & milk shake while I waited but it was done quickly. Then I drove home and and spent some time in the office.

We had leftovers in the evening.

Day 6079 (25/08/2026)

At the gym fairly early, then home for brunch.

Did some stuff in the office and then we had pizza in the evening. 

Day 6078 (24/08/2026)

Back at the gym, then did some stuff in the office but mostly winding down from work. 

We had some nice cheesy veggi burgers in the evening. 

Day 6076 & 6077 (22 & 23/08/2026)

The weekend, and some time off from the gym. I was in the office but had no enthusiasm, and have taken the decision that I will retire from a lot of my work, and concentrate on writing and relaxing, with my family. 

We had brunch, then I watered the garden, front and back, using water can's, as the hose pipe ban is still in-force. 

   

In the evening I made veggi lamb kofta's, with salt & pepper chips, which was really tasty.

It was really lovely, I'm so glad I decided to make it this weekend.  

Sunday I saw my parents for breakfast, then home to do some stuff in the office, and make a nice roast lamb dinner. 

With a nice triple chock brownie / cookie for afters. 

Day 6075 (21/08/2026)

For the fifth day on the trot I was at the gym, and early as well. Admittedly I had to move the car off of the drive for the workman, so it was easier to kill two birds with one stone. 

I'm still not a great fan of the exercise, but I enjoy an hour out of the office and I really need the gym to become habit, so I keep up a healthy life style in the long term.

I picked up another new sleep apnoea machine, and this one was new not, reconditioned, and it is lovely and quiet. 

They are getting on with the new decking, but are now away for a week. 

My wife made a lovely kedgeree in the evening.

Day 6074 (20/08/2026)

Another early morning session at the gym.  

Then back home, not really doing much work at the moment, as have no enthusiasm for it.  Thankfully the people doing the garden are more enthusiastic and are cracking on, building the new base for the decking. 

We had pie & chips in the evening. 

Day 6073 (19/08/2026)

It was an unexpectedly early start to the morning, as before I could move the cars off the driveway for the builder at 8:30am, we had a delivery, which he hadn't warned me about, before 8:00am.

Then I went off to the gym. 

Then back home, where the builder had started. The decking was rotten and the flower bed was falling apart, so are all being replaced. 

 

They spent the day, with it raining on & off, digging out all the old rotten wood. 

Be nice to have the garden back and looking good after all the work we have had done this year. 

Has quiche and salad in the evening.
