Day 5768 & 5769 (18 & 19/10/2025)

The weekend, still have things to do, so was up fairly early and in front of my computer.  Then it was time for brunch, which was too filling for me.

Then we had to get ready and go off to Bristol, to have dinner at Andrew & Alison's, with Ester & Simon, which was lovely as always, with lots of nice drinks and really tasty food.

With Apple & celeriac soup, with anchovy toast.

Then Korean chicken, with water chestnuts, bok choy & squash, with chips.

And a very tasty roast peaches, with brioche, cream and pistachio's.

It was all lovely and thankfully I had small portions.  It was a lovely evening, then home for just after midnight.

On Sunday I did some shopping, then saw my parents for breakfast, then home to do some work. When my wife came home we had a nice caviar & herring pate starters.

Then after a bit of telly, I made a (Good Food) prawn & coconut curry, which I had made a couple of months ago and which Thomas had requested.

All very nice, with a cool glass of Cobra, and a few sides & dips.

Day 5767 (17/10/2025)

Thankfully finished all of my work but still setting up my new laptop. At lunch time we popped out to do a few things and have a coffee. Then in the evening I made Jamie's quick and easy savory pancakes, with mushrooms and sweetcorn.

Which I served with some salad and kippers.

All very tasty but again hard to present nicely.

Day 5766 (16/10/2025)

Still busy with loads of work and finishing setting up my new phone and laptop.

In the evening I did a Jamie meal, which was a very green (healthy) pasta dish, which was tasty but hard to present nicely.

Tasty but very filling and veery healthy.

Day 5765 (15/10/2025)

Still very busy with work and busy setting up the phone & laptop.

When my wife came home from work we had a slice of some banana bread / cake that she made, which was nice.

Then in the evening she made a Jamie meal, with tofu & dumpling soup / broth, which was very tasty, and also looked lovely.

Day 5764 (14/10/2025)

Still two sickly people in the house. I made my wife some bagels with cream cheese brunch, which was nice.

Then I got busy with work, and setting up my new phone and laptop. I had forgotten what a pain it is. I had a flu jab in the afternoon, which was unbelievably painful, with a needle much bigger than the fairly pain-free Mounjaro ones.

In the evening we just had some leftovers, which were really nice.

Day 5763 (13/10/2025)

Monday, all back to work, to of them with colds but Thomas is covering the office all week, so can't even go off sick.

I cleared out some old devices from my office, which were cutting edge and essential on our courses only 10 - 15 years ago but now are museum items.

Odd how I used to have to cart a dozen of these things round, making sure al the sim cards were topped up, which was an expensive pain. Ordered a new phone and laptop for work, as my other one was about 6 years old and starting to have issues.

We have been watching a new series of Jamie Oliver, and are doing a few of his meals this week, with my wife (wearing a mask) making his cod wrapped in courgette, with tomato & pepper orzo, which was really tasty and very well presented, but did take a while to make and left my wife quite stressed.
