Day 5202 & 5203 (30 & 31/03/2024)

A bright sunny morning and we had a relaxing start to the day then met up with Lee & Tim for brunch, which even included a free Expresso Martini :-) 

Then which literally walked opposite to the win bar, where we stayed for a few bottles too many and some lovely nibbles.

Then we stopped for some cocktails on the way back to the hotel.

Then back to sleep at the hotel for a few hours before popping out for a quick & tasty Mexican.  

A very lovely day.

Sunday we had a lazy start to the day, then a nice sit down watching the sea for a while, before meeting up with Lee for brunch at The Laughing Dog.

And then a coffee & cake ;-) 

Then a slow drive home and a relax.

Day 5201 (29/03/2024)

It's Good Friday and although we were up early(ish), intending to be ready to go to Worthing first thing but it was after noon before we were ready, however the drive down was OK and we could book straight into the hotel when we arrived.

We had a walk along the seafront and a nice drink before meeting up with Lee.     

Then we went off to a new Italian restaurant, which was really lovely, with some very tasty food.

They even gave us some Limoncello at the end :-)

Day 5200 (28/03/2024)

It was a busy day in the office, catching up after being away and before going away, with left overs for dinner.

Day 5199 (27/03/2024)

Up early but later than yesterday and had some breakfast at the hotel.

Then off to the Eurostar and a nice meal on the way back.

Then I had a couple of hours to kill at Paddington, so grabbed some full7y loaded nachos & a drink :-)

Then a much better journey home than the one to London. Nice to be home and some lovely pasta. 

Day 5198 (26/03/2024)

It was an early start and then off to the Eurostar, which had changed a lot since my last visit, which turned out to be in April 2011, without it be much more like an airport check-in nowadays, but with less room. 

I had time for a nice bacon roll & tea. 

Then on to the train and a complementary breakfast :-)

And in no time we were in Lille, which was a bit cold. 

The even was a bit bigger than I had anticipated. 

The talk went OK, with quite a large audience but the sound system was awful and the lights far to bright and off-putting.

Then a drinks reception, with a few nibbles.

I had intended to then go out for a nice french meal but got side tracked with a few people I was chatting to and ended up in a bar, where they only had nachos. 

I managed to leave, get a taxi and get to my budget hotel, which unfortunately didn't do any food but thankfully had a vending machine so I could grab some chocolate for dinner.
