Day 2324 (09/05/2016)

Our 29th Wedding Anniversary and my lovely wife has hardly changed.

Then up to the top of the Eiffel Tower to celebrate with a glass of Champagne.

Then we had a boat trip along the seine, seeing quite a few of the sites.

One of the things not covered on the boat trip was the Statue Of Liberty, so we walked to it, which wasn't that far (well actually it was far to far as by the time we walked there and back to the hotel we were totally knackered).

Rather than looking for the best restaurant in Paris we went for the nearest one, which was still nice, with my wife trying the escargot.

Day 2322 & 2323 (07 & 08/05/2016)

Oh to have the sort of job that is just 8hrs a day and that you don't think about when you have finished for the day. But then those jobs come with restrictions, lack of choice and very limited opportunity to make real money.

So it was an early start and a busy day doing work so I could go away  with a clear concious.

We had a nice breakfast before popping out to Bridgwater.

Sunday was fairly relaxed start before driving to the airport for our flight to Paris.

The flight was short and OK, as a slept for most of it.

Then we had to master the French Metro system to get to the hotel (which was surprisingly easy as neither of us speak a wood of French).

The Hotel was quite nice but very trendy so was very dark, all black & white with very small rooms and a tiny bathroom.

If you ignore the tree we even had a view of the Eiffel Tower.

Then we went out for dinner and found a nice restaurant that had a view of the Eiffel Tower.

Then we walked to the Eiffel Tower, which was all lit up and on the hour sparkles with a fantastic light show.

Day 2321 (06/05/2016)

A busy day with a hair cut and an eye test. My eyes haven't got much worse but I ordered a couple of pairs of glasses to replace the oldest ones that I still use.

I fell asleep in the afternoon, I really need a break but have so much to do :-(

Day 2320 (05/05/2016)

The course was a bit rushed but went well, two days is never long enough to cover the things that people want to hear about.

Then no Yo Sushi at Paddington as the food is being redeveloped but at least I was able to sit and relax with free cool drinks & snacks in the first class lounge.

Then home :-)

Day 2319 (04/05/2016)

First day of the course went well and there was a nice lunch.

In the evening I met up with a friend for a few drinks and a nice meal.

Day 2318 (03/05/2016)

A busy day and then a train journey London, luckily I was able to buy some cheap first class tickets.

Then back in the Civil Service Club, where for the first time I had a double bed and a nice sized telly :-)

Day 2317 (02/05/2016)

Bank Holiday Monday so we had a bit of a lie-in and a nice breakfast.

Then did a bit of work in the office before popping to see my Dad for his birthday next week, as they, then us will be away.

A few weeks ago I was feeling quite relaxed as I had no flights or journeys booked. Now my diary is filling up (the pink are training bookings and I haven't included them all yet),

which I suppose is half good but also half bad.

As I'm away for a few days from tomorrow, so we went out for a quick dinner at The Worlds End, which was nice :-)

Day 2315 & 2316 (30/04 & 01/05/2016)

I got up early and went out and picked up a new printer (I could have claimed on the warranty but it was only £65 and I would have spent ages arguing about it, so couldn't be bothered). I bought exactly the same printer as last time as I had only bought a load of spare printer cartridges the other week.

I also bought a new tablet, as if I'm spending a long time abroad I think I should sign up for Netflix.

My wife made some nice pancakes for breakfast.

It's a new month already, so time for a new Kylie picture.

A bit different but still lovely, nearly as lovely as my wife :-)

Did a nice starter with parma ham & baked halloumi.

And a nice roast lamb for dinner :-)
