Day 5781 (31/10/2025)

Back in the office.  We had some leftover pizza for lunch.

Then in the evening inspired by one of last weeks tapas, tonight I did pan fried sea bass fillets, on a tomato, roast pepper, shallots, garlic, olive sauce with prawns and butter beans.

All very tasty, with a lovely bottle of whispering angel wine.

Day 5780 (30/10/2025)

Busy in the office and at the gym again.

I spoke with John at the Uni in the evening, as an issue had cropped up at the Uni, which means I might not be running the courses next year. It would be a pain, as it's quite a bit of money and I was looking forward to a few fun Deliveroo's & UberEats but on the plus side I wouldn't have to go away and would have more time to start writing.  I should find out by Tuesday but will continue updating the material just in case.

Finished off the Chinese for a late lunch and had a couple slices of pizza for dinner but forgot to take a photo as on Facetime to Lee.

Day 5779 (29/10/2025)

Busy in the office, updating the material for Uni. Thomas was out, so no gym today.

Leftover stew in the evening.

Day 5778 (28/10/2025)

Started the day with a nice brunch.

Then off to give blood, with a disappointing selection of biscuits.

My wife made a tasty stew in the evening.

Day 5777 (27/10/2025)

Monday and back to work and back to the gym after a busy period.

Ordered a few extra dishes to finish of the Chinese for dinner.

Day 5775 & 5776 (25 & 26/10/2025)

Up fairly early and had breakfast and checked out of the hotel. We came straight back as I had a few things to get on with.

Made a cheesy tuna pasta in the evening.

On Sunday I saw my parents for breakfast, then home to do some work, then made a tasty Chinese in the evening.

All very tasty.

Day 5774 (24/10/2025)

Had things to do in the morning but had some brunch before taking my Dad to the eye clinic.

Then home to wait for my wife before going to Torquay for the evening. We stayed at the Hampton By Hilton close to the Marinas, which we like, and had a nice evening out, with some rude named cocktails and tasty tapas at Twenty1.

We were too stuffed even to share an afters, so just had a coffee.

Then had a slow but windy walk back to the hotel.

Day 5773 (23/10/2025)

Busy ish in the office, had some pasta in the evening.

Day 5772 (22/10/2025)

More updating the Uni material and my website.

Had a very nice jacket potato with the leftover chilli con carne in the evening.

Day 5771 (21/10/2025)

Had a nice brunch and managed to get on with updating the Uni material.

Then a bit of leftover curry and a mince pie for lunch.

This evening Thomas was out at the football with Murray (City beat Southampton 3-1), so I took the opportunity a make a very tasty beef chili con carne for dinner.

Very tasty, with a nice glass of Corona.

Thomas & Murray had a good time.

Day 5770 (20/10/2025)

Having done all of my work I started updating the University material again, then had two jobs come in, so had to put it off again.

My wife's new shift mean that she doesn't come home until quite late in the afternoon on most days, so we had a late lunch / early dinner, of some of the leftover curry.

Then a bit of telly and back to work.

We had a cuppa and a slice of cake in the evening.

Day 5768 & 5769 (18 & 19/10/2025)

The weekend, still have things to do, so was up fairly early and in front of my computer.  Then it was time for brunch, which was too filling for me.

Then we had to get ready and go off to Bristol, to have dinner at Andrew & Alison's, with Ester & Simon, which was lovely as always, with lots of nice drinks and really tasty food.

With Apple & celeriac soup, with anchovy toast.

Then Korean chicken, with water chestnuts, bok choy & squash, with chips.

And a very tasty roast peaches, with brioche, cream and pistachio's.

It was all lovely and thankfully I had small portions.  It was a lovely evening, then home for just after midnight.

On Sunday I did some shopping, then saw my parents for breakfast, then home to do some work. When my wife came home we had a nice caviar & herring pate starters.

Then after a bit of telly, I made a (Good Food) prawn & coconut curry, which I had made a couple of months ago and which Thomas had requested.

All very nice, with a cool glass of Cobra, and a few sides & dips.
