Day 5900 (27/02/2026)
Had a few things to do in the morning, then we got ready and went to Bristol, to meet up with Sam to see a show. But before the show we had a drink and some vey tasty little plate dishes at Bristol Bar + Block, which was really nice.
We had the Steak Churrasco (Chimichurri sliced rump steak, Pico de Gallo salsa) - Garlic + Chilli King Prawns, with Sourdough bloomer - Italian Spicy Sausage + Mozzarella Arancini, with Tomato salsa, Grana Padano, rocket - Salt + Pepper Squid, with Truffle mayo - Chicken + Red Pepper Skewers, with Pico de Gallo salsa - Asian Crispy Beef - & Hand-Cut Halloumi Fries.
We must go back for a full meal as these little plates were so tasty.
Then off to the Old Vic to see Mike Wozniak, who was brilliant. What a show, what a delivery, he had everyone laughing from start to finish but it would be hard to point to a single joke. Shame out seats were at the top, so quite uncomfortable but a great evening out.
Then home in quite bad rain and with parts of the M5 closed.

Day 5899 (26/02/2026)
A day with no work but busy on my website, which was nice to catch-up with a few updates etc.
When my wife came home from work we finished the chilli con carne.
And had some cheesy tuna pasta in the evening.
Day 5898 (25/02/2026)
Busy a work and also my stomach muscles have just about returned to normal, so it obviously wasn't anything too serious.
My wife made a tasty tomato & red pepper stew in the evening.

Day 5897 (24/02/2026)
We had a nice brunch but I was really busy in the office with work.
In the evening we had some nice fish & chips shop chips with the leftover roast chicken and some beans.
Day 5896 (23/02/2026)
Back to work in the office. Not going to the gym this week as I seem to have hurt a stomach muscle when I was away the previous week, hopefully its nothing too serious and not an actual hernia.
Had a nice jacket potato with leftover chilli con carne for an early dinner, before doing an online session for the Uni.
Day 5894 & 5895 (21 & 22/02/2026)
It was nice to sleep and wake up back in my own bed. I had a few things to do in the office first thing, then had a nice brunch, then returned the car to my parents.
Then in the evening I made a nice beef chili con carne, as Thomas was having his leftover Chinese.
It was really tasty.
I saw my parents for breakfast on Sunday, then home to do some work, and then made a tasty roast chicken dinner, with a vegi option for Thomas.

Day 5893 (20/02/2026)
The last morning in Preston, and it was another cold and wet day. I had breakfast and loaded up my car.
Then off to Uni for the las few sessions, and a quick lunch.
Then the student's did the exam, and some of them started late and also took ages, so I wasn't on the road until much later than I wanted, so I got caught in a bit of traffic on the way back but it was nice to eventually be home, and have some nice sushi and a Chinese for dinner with my wife.

Day 5892 (19/02/2026)
Breakfast was muesli & small croissants, then off to the University, wearing my big coat, which was better than yesterday.
I had the usual lunch at Uni, and then back to the classroom, where I had gone down to only 6 students, from what was expected to be nearer 30, so it has been a funny week.

Had a good nights sleep, then a nice breakfast.
It had looked nice out, so I stupidly didn’t wear my coat bit it was really cold walking to & from the Uni.
Had the usual lunch.
I should have just ordered some sides.

Day 5890 (17/02/2026)
It was a frosty start to the day but at least it was dry. I had muesli & very small croissants for breakfast.
And the usual lunch.
After training had finished I went to the gym again.
Then, to mark the Chinese New Year, I had a nice Chinese tonight (so missed pancakes on pancake day).

Day 5889 (16/02/2026)
Back in Preston, and had some muesli & half a bacon sandwich for breakfast, then off to the University.
I had my usual lunch, and after finishing teaching I went back to the hotel and went to the gym.
For dinner I ordered a pizza & cheesy chips, which I hardly touched.
