Day 2280 (26/03/2016)

The day started with a nice breakfast at the hotel.

Then a walk along the sea front dodging the waves and being hit (soaked) just before reaching the end  :-(

We had tea and cake at the Marina.

And then caught the train to the pier for fish & chips.

Then we had a relax back at Lee's after a hard day out and about.

In the evening we had a very nice Chinese in Rottingdean.

Day 2279 (25/03/2016) Good Friday

Good Friday and we were off to Rottingdean (not as early as we had intended). The drive was OK.

When we arrived in time for tea and cake with Lee before going out for dinner at a local pub.

They had live music, which was quite good and made it an enjoyable evening.

Day 2278 (24/03/2016)

Last day of the course, which went well, perhaps not as good as last week but still went well.

Then a very long drive home in Bank Holiday traffic.

Day 2277 (23/03/2016)

The course is gong well and I'm really looking forward to getting home and having a few days away with my wife.

To celebrate the last night eating in the restaurant opposite  went for my favourite meal of the last two weeks, so pate to start, then a mixed grill and then a tart tatin.

Day 2276 (22/03/2016)

Second day of the course went well and I had a nice chicken fiatti for lunch.

In the evening had some potato dippers, lasagne and coconut ice-cream.

Awful events in Brussels. Rather than targeting public, who are fairly powerless, I really wish terrorist would just target politicians. I'm sure we may even offer a bit of help if they start with Blair and Cameron.

Facetime is great and really handy so we can see and speak to our kids every day but it is slightly annoying when one of them calls you at 12:30am for a chat when your are fast asleep (I took ages to get back to sleep afterwards).

Day 2275 (21/03/2016)

Back in Lincoln for another course and the first day went well.

In the evening I went back to the restaurant opposite and had a fairly nice meal, with pate, burgers and a chocolate brownie.

Day 2273 & 2274 (19 & 20/03/2016)

A busy day getting ready for next weeks course.

Looking forward to having the Easter weekend off in Rottingdean visiting our eldest.

Having a good run at scrabble at the moment :-)

Sunday was a busy day but I had time for breakfast at my parents house and to make a nice lamb shank roast dinner.

Then a long drive up to Lincoln again.

Day 2272 (18/03/2016)

Its always nice to wake up in my own bed after being away.

It was quite a busy day, with a few things to do in town but I didn't feel great so didn't do too much work.

Had some nice nachos in the evening.

Day 2271 (17/03/2016)

The last day of the course started with me having to defrost my car.

Then my drive thru Lincoln up to and past by the Cathedral.

The course went well but was a bit hurried at the end and then a long drive home.

Day 2270 (16/03/2016)

The third day of the course went well.

In the evening I had to wait ages to be served but in the end the mixed was OK and the coconut ice-cream was lovely.

Day 2269 (15/03/2016)

The second day of the course went well; although when I got back to my car in the car park I found a little note.

Petty little people.

Had a nice burger and an apple tart tatin for dinner, with much better service.

Day 2268 (14/03/2016)

It was an early morning as I had to drive to the venue (thru the awful Lincoln traffic) and set up the laptops and training equipment.

As always I was slightly apprehensive beforehand that this would be the course when I'm found out not to be such an expert but once again the material and my style were well received.

In the evening I eat at the pub next door, the meal was OK but the service was fairly crap.

It could be a long two weeks if I eat here every night but I can't really be bothered to get dressed up and drive into town.

Saturday, 12 March 2016

Day 2266 & 2267 (12 & 13/03/2016)

A busy Saturday finishing getting ready for next week and setting up the laptops (I hate providing the laptops, the weigh loads and are a pain to cart around but they have enabled me to run some courses and earn money, certainly a lot more than they cost; so they were a wise investment but I will be getting rid of them after the summer).

We went to Bridgwater in the afternoon and then had a nice pizza in the evening.

On Sunday I visited on my parents for breakfast then got everything ready before having dinner with my wife and then a long drive up to Lincoln, which is truly an awful place to drive to.

Day 2265 (11/03/2016)

I am still busy getting ready for the next three courses in three weeks. I don't intend to book this amount of courses again; in fact after these I don't actually have any more courses booked but I am aware that I might have to do a few more but not to the extent that I have worked over the last 6 months.

I am also looking forward to getting back to the gym on a daily basis when I am at home more often; hopefully with my life a bit calmer now I can turn things around and get to the shape & size I should be (I can dream).

I had to pop out at lunchtime to see my therapist. I only have one more appointment left and then I've had my lot on the NHS; which is odd seeing as we are only now addressing the real issues. I could pay to go privately or go back in 6 months. I'm undecided but have benefited from these.

Either way I'm looking forward to relaxing more, very soon.

I had my highest ever score in scrabble for a single word, Exoderms for 185, 8 letters over two treble words.

I may retire now :-)

Day 2264 (10/03/2016)

Busy getting everything ready for the next three courses but in the evening went out to see my old colleagues at my pensioners support group, the first for around 6 months.

There were some interesting developments, hopefully which will all be positive for us but not for the nasty bullies after us.

Day 2263 (09/03/2016)

Still busy in the office and I haven't even started preparing for the upcoming courses yet.

I popped out to visit my local MP's office to discuss a few issues I have with the police. If nothing else I'm hopping to get my passport released so I can use it on the biometric machines.

In the afternoon I get a copy of the feedback from a recent talk I gave.

There weren't any prizes for being the best rated of all the speakers from the event but it does reassure me as I often feel apprehensive at these events.

Day 2262 (08/03/2016)

Another busy day in the office but no time for swimming, which is just as well as my left knee is feeling the effects of yesterdays swimming.

In the even  we were treated to a meal out that The Willow Tree (as a thank-you from an on-line database I recommend). We had starters of cauliflower and cannellini bean soup with white truffle oil and a ravioli of salmon and tiger prawns with creamed leeks and a shellfish sauce.

Then mains of roast rump of lamb with celeriac purée, spring greens and garlic & sage roasted polenta and pan fried fillet of plaice with a warm fennel and carrot salad, fondant new potatoes and a basil and rhubarb dressing.

And then afters of stem ginger crème brûlée and bread and butter pudding with fresh cream, followed by the cheese board, which was really nice.

And whilst Thomas was out and about him bumped into Michael Owen.
