Day 5579 (11/04/2025)

Another lovely sunny start to the day.

I was busy in the office, with a few work things.

Over the last few years, like most people, I have really cut down on what needed printing, especially compared to how much I used to print for work. In fact I would regularly get 1000's of sheets professionally printed for each course, so most times my office was full of boxes of the stuff. Now, with the new accountancy software, where I upload pdf & images of bills & invoices, I hardly print anything at all, and my physical company records are so much smaller this year than in other years. So a win win.

Day 5578 (10/04/2025)

Another bright sunny day in Taunton.

I was busy in the office for a lot of the day but from the kitchen noticed lots of feathers in the garden, and when I explored found the remain of a pigeon, which looked to have been attacked by a cat. Annoying and messy.

We finished the leftover lamb & rice dish for a late lunch, so didn't have dinner.

We booked a holiday for June and a few rooms for days out, I'm really looking forward to relaxing with Mrs Smith.

Day 5577 (09/04/2025)

I had a busy morning in the garden, re-potting the herbs and putting my new little greenhouse together.

When Mrs Smith came home from work we got changed and drove to Cardiff, to see Lou Sanders with my friend Sam.

It was a really funny show and a lovely evening, but a bit of a drive.

Day 5576 (08/04/2025)

We had a relaxing start to the day and a nice brunch.

I then jet-washed and tidied more of the garden, then we went off to the garden centre, where we had a nice coffee & cake and bought some bits and pieces.

In the evening I made a tasty rice & vegetable dish, using the left over lamb (with a vegi option for Thomas).

I had guessed how to do the pickled red onion, which didn't quite work but it was all very nice, as I had used loads of season & herbs to cook the rice and vegetables, and the lamb really added to it.

Day 5575 (07/04/2025)

Another dry but slightly chilly morning. After breakfast I started to tidy the garden for the summer, which was exhausting and I still have loads more to do.

Had some leftover hotdogs for a late lunch, so we didn't have any dinner.

Day 5573 & 5574 (05 & 06/04/2025)

The weekend and we had a bit of a lie-in and a nice late brunch.

Did a bit or work and had atrip to the tip, then home. In the evening I did hot-dogs.

Very nice.

Saw my parents for breakfast on Sunday, then home to do a few chores and a bit of work. Then I made a very nice roast lamb dinner.

All very tasty, with a nice bottle of fizz :-)

Day 5572 (04/04/2025)

I was enjoying the sunshine at the start of the week, so am not happy at how cold and wet it has become.

There was some of last night soup leftover, and I suggested using it as a prawn curry, and it was really lovely.

Day 5571 (03/04/2025)

Another day at work, caching up on a few things.

My wife, who has a bad back today, made an amazing tasty coconut dahl soup thing tonight.

Day 5570 (02/04/2025)

My wife went back to work, and I had a few bits of work in, so no gym this week.

Finished the pizza in the evening.

Day 5569 (01/04/2025)

It's April already, it was hard to distinguish from the usual April Fools joke news items and the actual news at the moment, it is an awful time, which could go either way.

Then a nice brunch.

Then we did a few things, and then sat down to Mrs Smith's Mothers Day gift afternoon tea.

We had pizza in the evening.

Day 5568 (31/03/2025)

We had a lie-in and some bacon rolls, with some of the left-over gammon.

Then we went off to Exeter Quays, which until a few days ago  we didn't even know it existed and it was quite lovely, with quite a few interesting shops and coffee shops.

Then home via Ikea, which I wanted to go to, to get some ideas for re-doing the house but what an exhausting never-ending walk it was around the store.

Day 5566 & 5567 (29 & 30/03/2025)

After a nice nights sleep, we had a nice breakfast at the hotel.

Then had a walk along the sea-front.

On the beach there was a man making circular art by hand using a rake, which was very clever.

Then we had a walk thru the gardens, where you had to use contactless to use the toilets.

Then we had a slow drive back, stopping at Plant World, for a nice walk amongst the plants.

Then home, where I made  a nice gammon dinner in the evening.

Sunday was Mothers Day, so me and Mrs Smith went to see my parents for breakfast. Then we went to Bristol to lay some flowers on Mary's grave.

Then on the way back home we stopped-off at Weston-Super-Mare for a coffee and a walk along the quite windy sea-front.

Then home, where Mrs Smith had received a Mothers Day gift from Lee.

I had bought her some nice flowers, and Thomas ha got her a nice plant and giant card.

Then I made a nice pie & mash dinner.
