Day 393 (24/01/2011)

I love my kids loads and miss them when we are away but oh how much easier it will be to arrange a holiday when its just be and my wife. It will be nice to just book a week away whenever. I am looking forward to that and will send the kids a postcard.

    We were having a similar conversation over the weekend which started with the realisation of how much extra space we will have when ours have both moved out. We spent the weekend re-arranging Michael's room and managed to get rid of quite a lot of rubbish that we ( and others... ) have spent many pounds on over the years. You are so pleased when you first buy something you know they want, and then over the years it becomes "that can go", "that's just rubbish", "throw that away" ! Why do we as parents buy so much tat? Clever marketing or the desire to please?

    Anyway, one tidy room with a lot more available storage space so rant over.

    First thing I will be doing is hiring a skip when ours move out and I wont limit the purge just to their rooms.

    Saying that I must tidy up my office, when I have 5 minutes.
